It all started with a dare—from myself.
Standing in front of my shoe rack one lazy afternoon, I looked at my favorite pair of holey clogs and wondered: Could I wear these for literally everything this week? Not just out and about, but for the parts of life no one really sees—like when you’re stretching on your yoga mat, or scrubbing shampoo out of your hair.
The plan was simple: four days, four settings. One pair of shoes.
No excuses.
Day 1: Homebody Mode
Monday was a work-from-home day, the kind where the couch and the fridge are in constant competition for your attention. I slipped into the clogs out of habit, thinking I’d probably ditch them by noon.
But I didn’t.
They were perfect for quick trips to the kitchen, stepping out to grab a parcel, and pacing during long video calls. I even wore them while folding laundry and reorganizing the spice rack (because yes, I am that kind of procrastinator).
By the end of the day, I realized something funny: I hadn’t once thought about taking them off.
Day 2: On the Go

Tuesday was different. I had errands to run, groceries to haul, and a friend to meet for a walk in the park. Usually, I’d change into something more “public-ready,” but this week? The challenge was on.
So I styled them up—cropped jeans, a relaxed button-up, my trusty canvas tote—and stepped out.
No stares. No discomfort. Just a few extra minutes of freedom at the grocery store entrance while everyone else struggled to untie their shoes.
The best part? No regrets when I accidentally stepped in a puddle. They dried in minutes, and we moved on.
Day 3: Sweat Session
Midweek, mid-morning. Yoga mat rolled out, music on. I usually go barefoot when I stretch at home, but I wanted to see what the clogs could handle.
To my surprise, they actually gave me great grip during warm-up stretches. I ended up doing the full session in them—modified squats, arm circles, even a quick round of lunges across the room.
Would I wear them for a marathon? No. But for light home workouts? Absolutely. My feet stayed protected and supported, especially on hardwood floors.
And bonus—they didn’t smell weird afterward. A tiny miracle.
Day 4: Splash Test
Thursday night shower time. Honestly, I was skeptical. But hey, the challenge was almost over.
I slid them on, turned up the music, and stepped into my tiny bathroom. They held up like champs. No slipping, no soggy aftermath, and I didn’t have to hop around afterward trying to avoid wet tiles.
They rinsed clean, dried quick, and looked ready for another round.
By the end of the challenge, I had a new kind of appreciation.
These weren’t just quirky clogs with holes in them. They were my all-day, all-purpose sidekicks. From coffee-making to cart-pushing to cooldowns and conditioner, they didn’t complain once. And neither did my feet.
One shoe. Four lives. Zero drama.
Would I do it again? Definitely.
Would I recommend it? Only if you’re ready to fall in love with simplicity.
